Spring Concert
It was a delight to see the hall once again full to capacity for our end of term concert on Tuesday. Pupils shared a number of items including solo piano and brass pieces, as well as whole class performances capturing the learning that has taken place over the course of the term. We were especially impressed with the progress Class 3 pupils have made in developing their brass skills such a short space of time - we cannot wait to see how their skills continue to develop in the summer term! Our Young Voices choir also enjoyed the opportunity to perform the Matilda medley from the YV concert back in February, and Class 1 pupils provided a mediterranean flavour with a Spanish-inspired number from the recent Barnaby Bear concert at Congleton Town Hall. Class 1 pupils also impressed with their sea shanties whilst Class 2’s call and response pieces inspired by songs from Africa, were another highlight.
As always, our thanks go to Miss Cocks for continuing to support our pianists, Mr Scarterfield for his role in developing and leading our music curriculum and supporting pupils’ brass instrument progression and to Mrs Thwaites for leading our weekly collective worship singing sessions.
Also thanks to our audience who donated an amazing £114 during the event.
